EDDY – An upgrade to your sanitizer
In the rise of awareness for personal healthcare, there was a parallel rise in hygiene and healthcare products. One prime example is hand sanitizer dispenser. This product has a sole function to dispense the liquid sanitizer. It requires a pump which the user has to activate via a manual actuator. This invites the issue of hygiene concern altogether as multiple people which come in contact with the actuator. And this actuator will be a source for spreading the risky pathogens again.
In order to tackle this problem, there exist dispensers which are automatic. They are equipped with sensors that detect the user’s hand beneath the nozzle and dispenses the liquid content. This is an effective and efficient solution to easy, safe and contactless dispensing of hand sanitizer. Although this device being automatic, they need external current to function. Which means they are either battery-powered or directly plugged in. These devices however cannot be installed and maintained at all environments and conditions. Supposedly, there are many places where 24/7 power supply is a farfetched luxury, similarly, not all establishments or users can afford to buy and maintain such devices as they are expensive compared to traditional dispensers
Eddy on the other hand is a device which solves the stated problems altogether. It acts as an attachment to any traditional dispenser. It comprises of an inbuilt sensor which are directed at the nozzle end of the dispenser. Similar to the automatic dispensers, the traditional dispenser will dispense liquid. This will happen as Eddy will press the actuator of the dispenser as when it detects the user’s hand beneath the nozzle. Thus, this is the USP of Eddy which any manual dispenser into a handsfree and hygienic dispenser.
